Frequently asked questions:

What is physical therapy?

Physical therapy helps reduce pain, restore movement, improve strength, and prevent injury through hands-on care, exercise and education.

Do I need a referral from a doctor?

In most states, no. Michigan also does not require a referral for the first 10 visits or 28 days through Direct Access. We can guide you through this process.

How long is each session?

Most sessions last 45-60 minutes during a one-on-one treatment with a licensed therapist.

How many visits will I need?

It depends on your condition, goals, and how your body responds. Many patients see meaningful improvements in 4-8 visits.

Do you accept my insurance?

We work with most major insurances and continue to add more as we grow. Contact us to confirm whether we are in or out-of-network.

Do you accept individuals who do not wish to use insurance?

We offer self-pay and cash-based options with transparent pricing.

What will my visit cost?

Costs can vary based on your insurance plan. We may be able to provide an estimate prior to service, but your best option is to contact your insurance company to know your co-pay and coverage options.

Do you offer payment plans?

We require full payment at time of service. This decreases awkward interactions over unpaid balances and allows sessions to focus on treatments, not finances.

What conditions do you treat?

- Back and neck pain
- Sports injuries
- Post-surgical rehab
- Arthritic pain
- Vestibular and balance issues
- Work-related injuries

Do you treat athletes?

Yes, our owner, and lead therapist, has experience treating all levels of athletes from community youth competitors to olympians, and everyone in between.

Do you help with chronic pain?

Absolutely, we use a 3-step approach to managing chronic pain: decrease pain, increase mobility without pain, stabilize with strengthening. You may experience overlap of these steps in your treatment plan.

What happens during my first visit?

- A full evaluation with movement and strength testing
- Discussion of your goals
- A personalized treatment plan

What should I wear?

Whatever is comfortable that allows you to move. Shorts, athletic pants, and T-shirts are ideal.

Will physical therapy hurt?

While discomfort can occur during the session, and soreness later, treatment should never be unbearable. We will adjust care based on your body's response to treatment.

How do I schedule an appointment?

Schedule online through our SPRY link, call us, or request an appointment through our contact form.

Do you offer same-day appointments?

When available, yes; call to check for last-minute openings.

What is your cancellation policy?

We ask for 24-hour notice to avoid a cancellation fee.

Do you offer dry needling?

Yes, provided by a certified physical therapist when appropriate. Most insurances do not cover this service, though. You may be asked to provide self-pay for this treatment.

Do you offer telehealth visits?

Not at this time.

Why should I choose Prime Recovery and Rehabilitation?

We provide one-on-one care, focused on patient goals and long-term results - not quick fixes with cookie-cutter programs.

Will I see the same therapist every visit?

This is usually the case, but there are always exceptions (vacations, sick, etc.). As therapists are one-on-one with patients, they can be scheduled on the therapist's caseload and will remain there barring any unknown reasons. This maintains consistent treatments and consistent results.

Do I have to do home exercises?

The choice is always yours and we can't follow you home. Research shows patients who are compliant with home programs are 2x more likely to reach the established goals and improve their outcomes.
